It will be put on display while the original undergoes its treatments, whihc could be some months. Mostly, it will be available to the Norfolk Island community for their use. Up until the 1940s it was taken out on Bounty Day, (the anniversary of the arrival of the Pitcairn Islanders on Norfolk on June 8 1856) set up in the Compound and a shot fired from it. While we won't be able to fire anything out of the replica it can be used for these sorts of occassions.Norfolk Island Museumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15811880868058634718noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7476833268586298307.post-69761621046783088492010-08-10T16:13:19.205-07:002010-08-10T16:13:19.205-07:00What are your future plans with the new cannon? What are your future plans with the new cannon?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7476833268586298307.post-48566737355979280542010-08-09T23:48:24.757-07:002010-08-09T23:48:24.757-07:00Hi Ewan, great to have Phillip here and working on...Hi Ewan, great to have Phillip here and working on the cannon. Hope all goes well and look forward to seeing photos of the end result. EwenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
