The building of the lighter, the
latest addition to Norfolk Island’s fleet continues. Lighters are used to
transfer our sea cargo from ship to shore. As 99% of Norfolk Island’s cargo is
imported by sea, the serviceability of the lighters is very important. With the
loss of lighter No 11 in December 2014, this replacement is paramount.
